Problem Statement

  • USCAN needed to rapidly but cost-effectively scale an outreach campaign to organize a one year follow-up day of action to build momentum from 2014's People's Climate March, where over 400,000 people marched through the streets of New York calling for global climate action.

Solution

  • We rapidly built the technology and online-to-offline capabilities to support a distributed day of action. That included a website with training and coordination materials for event organizers around the country, ongoing social media outreach and digital marketing, as well as ability to register an event and upload media and report backs from organizers on the day of action.

Outcomes

  • Using the tools, training materials and marketing built for them USCAN and PCM was able to successfully recruit over 200 volunteer organizers that each held events forming one of the larger distributed days of action for climate in the United States
